In the first small pickpass, which was approx. 1m x 1m area, large amounts of tile were uncovered. There are large pan tile fragments being found. Some small pottery fragments were also found. A bucchero base fragment was found. This is special find . Also, small amounts of carbon in the soil were found. Small pieces of bone were also found.

The same 2m x 2m of the trench were continued after lunch. The process has been slow due to the large tile fragments that need to be worked around. Larger pieces of plaster were also found. An absolute elevation for the
datum point was determined. The elevation of a known point by a rock approx. 2.5m from the North line of the trench was used. The rock used is one of four in a row on the state plan. The elevation of the point is 28.89m. The elevation of the datum point is 30.22m.
The area was picked again and cleaned up. The area was swept and a closing depth was taken.
