Began pick pass in the western half of the trench moving east. Soil was sorted with trowels into buckets, The soil remained a medium brwn clay-like soil with a high quanity of tree roots and a heavy concentratin of white decaying sil (root rot) in the NW crner and a small patch of white decaying soil (root rot) in the SW corner. Trowels were used to further define the tree stumps and their root system. A secnd pick pass was begun in the western section of the trench moving east. This soil is a medium brown clay-like soil with large quantities of tree roots and a white decaying soil concentration in the NW corner.

An axe was used to remove all exposed tree roots and a few f the stumps in the SE corner of the trench. See Diagram below:
The baulk walls were trimmed. The trench surface was clipped of all small tree roots.
