Seven boxes of tiles were dumped during the day.  As excavation of this area was virtually complete by the end of the day, the summary for this area is included here.

The major features mentioned before continued with little change in this extension of the trench with the exception of the western line of bedrock which virtually disappeared to be replaced by a sloping line of galestra which was cut into by a roughly circular pit of charcoal producing earth (cf page 103 ).  The eastern half of the trench contained a continuation of the bedrock outcrop and the orange plaster pavement.  At the side of the "pavement" was another area of burned and blackened earth which produced pottery (some "misfirings") and tiles.  The area of the trench most productive of architectural terracottas was centred on squares F 17 + 18.  For a plan and section of this area see the .  One box of pottery was stored and one box of body fragments thrown away.
