STRATEGY: NB: also 2488 open today. 2488: clean centre baulk and the draw the section. 2770: follow course of stones for small distance. 2777: take down a level. 2776 and 2774: clean and articulate.
SUMMARY: The centre baulk was cleaned and drawn on the western side of the trench. After this had been completed, the baulk in the northern half was removed down to the level of f830. A course of stones was discovered here but needs further articulation. 2770: a small course of four stones was discovered here by the burnt plaster, that seemed to run underneath f830,although this is not a definite assertion. Due to time constraints, the project had to be abandoned. 2777: this lot was taken down to a level that roughly parallelled 2776, but little outside of a very vague course of stones was defined. This course may or may not be the edge/border of the cobbles. The line of stones is very indistinct. 2776 and 2774: stones and cobbles further articulated.
