Bone Summary
Light brown soil - 8.5 latte boxes................................91%
Dark brown soil with carbon - 8.66 latte boxes.............7%
Baulktrim - 0.2 latte boxes.........................................2%
Bone was found throughout the trench, but the vast majority of the bone fragments and of the antler was recovered from the light brown stratum.
Although a number of bone fragments showed signs of working or butchering (all such examples were made finds) much of the bone was either broken, or small and intact. A variety of bones; long bones, ribs, joints, jaws, and skull fragments, were recovered from the light brown soil.
A variety of bone was not as great in the dark brown soil with carbon, but it should be noted that a very large portion of cut antler, from near the skull, was recovered in this stratum, p. 61 # 2.
All bone was bagged and placed in a representative box.
