Summary

The pottery from T-27 1989 was represented by four types: 40% orangeware in cluding pieces of fine, medium and coarse levigation, 30% coarseware, 20% impasto and 10% fineware. In addition, one and a half cassette of pithos fragments were also recovered. All pottery found in T-27 was saved. The pottery was recovered throughout the trench, generally occurring at a depth of ca. 40cm or more. Relatively little pottery was discovered among the rock pack in meters F-H/68-70. As was the case last year, most of the pottery was weathered and fragmented through travel and erosion as is commonly encountered in a slope area. Very few joins were produced from the pottery recovered and no complete profiles were obtained. A few of the pottery fragments displayed evidence of burning. All of the pottery from T-27 1989 e-G/68-70, D-E/71-72 andH.M/68-72 was consolidated for storage

in J. Berkin, Book II, T-27 1989, representative pottery box I.

Bone:

Three boxes of bone were discovered in meters e-G/68-70, D-E/71-72, and H-M/68-71 of T-27. The bone was found randomly scattered thoughout the trench, generally appearing at a depth of 80cm. And below. None of the bone was worked and only a few pieces displayed signs of burning. All of the bone was consolidated for storage with the bone discovered in meters e-H/68-70 last year.

Ivory:

No ivory was discovered in T-27 during 1989.

Bronze:

Notable among the bronze finds of T-27 1989 was a small finial, perhaps of quite early date, discovered among the rock pack in meters E/72. The remainder of the bronze recovered consisted of either small fragments of bronze

sheet or tiny amorphous clumps. All of the uncatalogued bronze from T-27 e-G/68-70, D-E/71-72 and H-M/68-71 was stored in J. Berkin rep. Box I, T-27 1989, book II.
