We continue to lift stones north of the wall in gamma-delta 28-29. The stones seem to be a packing or fall off from the wall. They go down to a depth of 50-60 cm. below the upper surface of the wall. Once lifted, a dense brown soil appears. Below this is a dark burn layer (60-70 cm. down) containing much tile and pottery - 2 boxes. Where the face of the wall is visible in delta 29 there are 3 courses of small stones 50 cm. in height. We have extended this trench again to teh east to trace the path of the wall, although there is a decrease in the number of stones, several small rocks and 1 large stone seem to continue the line of teh wall. The extension is 1.50 m. long in grids delta-epsilon 30-31. The rest of teh gamma grid in 27-25 is cleared of topsoil but a number of large roots obscure the possible continuation of the stone fall. MANY rocks in delta 25. 2 boxes of pottery
