Stratigraphic Summary

Stratigraphic Summary

Since very little work was undertaken in T-27 this season, there is little to comment on in terms of stratigraphy.  However, it should be noted that the area of tile concentration in meters D/71-73 produced some interesting stratigraphic information.

The soil impacted around the tiles was consistently medium brown with a slightly orangy hue due to plaster inclusions.  This soil, and hence the tiles, rested upon a very dark brown soil with carbon.  This stratum was rather shallow, almost immediately giving way to a sterile, yellowish rocky stratum.
