A Note Regarding the Pottery Summary

A Note Regarding the Pottery Summary

The determination of fabric and sherd type was doen in the Mag after the pottery had been cleaned.  At this point it sometimes happened that joins were found and that joining pieces were glued together thereore resulting in a pottery total that was lower than the total that would be achieved by adding together the daily pottery counts which were doen on site before cleaning.  In addition, in some instances, it was determined that a piece was not pottery after it had been cleaned.  This also resulted in a lower pottery count than that which would have been achieved by using the on-site numbers.
