A.M.
Established a datum point in the northwest corner of the trench in meter A/1. Took a cut through the trench approximately 10 cm deep. The floor of the trench slopes downward from the northwest to southeast, being about 25 cm b.d. at the northwest and about 60 cm b.d. at the southeast.
The soil was light brown with a number of roots and small stones (5-15 cm). One very full cassetta of tile fragments, mostly pantile, were recovered. All fragments showed signs of wear, one piece was highly vitrified.
A latte box of pottery and bone fragments was recovered. The pottery was very slightly worn, mainly heave coarse ware with some impasto. A heavily worn pithos rim fragment was also recovered.

P.M.
Took elevations in the trench from the datum point to establish the slope of the ground.
A cut was made in meters A-B/1-2, in an attempt to level out the trench floor, bringing the northwestern most corner of B/2 to approximately 45 cm. The soil was light brown with a few small stones. At the deepest point of this cut, in meter B/2, a few small bits of carbon were found. A portion of an impasto vessel was found a few centimeters away at the same depth and was left in situ.
This cut produced 1 latte box of pottery and bone fragments most of which were well preserved; one join was found among the sherds. Fifteen to twenty tile fragments were also recovered, several preserving areas of slip. Two pieces of cut antler/bone were also found.
