Leveling of trench at approximate elevation of 155 cm bd, trimming of baulk walls. Still finding deposits of carbon, yellow and orange soil. Also beginning to find pieces of plaster.
Beginning a new pass of trench in northern half. Recorded Find 1, a rim of fine impasto with three ridges. Finding a good number of small rocks in SE corner of trench.
P.M.
Beginning to uncover what looks like a line of rocks (medium-size) running north-south through trench between 177-178 E. Also uncovering copious amounts of carbon and plaster. Soil also becoming more clay-like. Leveling trench to define new locus and troweling around rocks.
Collected one bowl of terracotta, 85 fragments of pottery, 17 pieces of bone.
