A narrow swath in section D-E/28 was excavated in an effort to probe beneath  the sloping rock packing in grids C-E/28-30.  The depth of the cut when measured from the top of the northern extension foundation wall is 2 m 20.  The depth measured from the existing slope of the North Terrace ranges between 1 m 50 to 1 m 60.  Enough tile fragments to fill one casetta were discovered intermixed within the rock packing.  Some pottery was also found.
