Boxes of pottery 3
Boxes of tile 2
Work continued in a section 2 m long, 5-6 and 1 m wide, C. Sections of a large tile fall ( see page 36 ) were uncovered near the western upper building foundation wall of Rect. 2. This tile fall is packed close to the foundation wall and is intermixed with bits of coarse-ware and bucchero fragments. Pieces included a large terracotta handle with finger mark designs adn a painted fragment on an Italo-Corinthian bowl.
A cut 3 m long, C-E and 2 m wide, 1-2 revealed sections of heavy stone packing. the stone packing in area B-1 was cleaned down and now appears to have an east/west alignment. This packing may be part of the east/west packing of area
B-3, 4 ,5 ,6 ( see diagram pg. 38 ). A fragmented bucchero bowl was found in area D-1 with a variety of well fired impasto bowl rims.
