The soil along the southern most boundary of the trench is beginning to look a little yellow in color. We are conducting a pick pass throughout the rest of the trench to reach said color.

A pick pass was made beginning in the northern most meter of the trench.

Baulk walls are being made level. All pottery, terracotta, bone, etc. found within the baulk tri is being collected under a new context.

To further investigate the depth of this yellowish soil that is appearing in the southern region of the trench, we are creating a 1 x 5 meter sounding along the western boundary of the trench. This sounding will become a new locus.

SW (5 S, 80 W), 29.94m AE

Locus 4 is a grey-yellow, dry, rocky material with little-to-no organic material.

By digging through the galestra material, we hope to prove/ disprove any possible indications of re-deposition.
