Daily Log

August 22, 1966

The entire trench was taken down to bedrock or virgin soil at 140-160 cm and the dike between Civitate A2 and A2A was removed.  Finds in the bottom of the trench included a small alabastron, two more waterspouts, and another piece of frieze.  The dike produced three pieces of frieze.  Final tile accumulation was about three times that of Civitate A2, and a closer check of the head fragments showed that 9 were waterspouts.  Sima cornice was also much heavier.
