The ground was still quite damp from the rain on the 24th.  Began troweling in meters C/1-4, leveling the area to 55cm bd.  The soil was medium brown with only occasional flecks of carbon.  A large number of roots were encountered.  This work produced approximately two-thirds of a latte box of pottery and bone fragments, a small fragment of bronze, and 12-15 small fragments of tile and terracotta.  This work will continue in the afternoon.
