Cassetta of Tile = 4

Boxes of Pottery = 3

Cassette of Plaster = 7

Grids zeta-beta/57-58 continued to be cleaned down to floor level. A huge amount (5 1/2 cassette) of plaster and a cassetta of tile came out of this area. The floor becomes irregular in grid zeta -- work will have to be continued carefully with a mestalina in this area. Very little pottery was found.

Grids gamma/54-56 -- to the north and east of the plaster mass -- were cleaned down also. Some tile came out of this area along with a great deal of plaster. There was evidence of burn in the soil which rested just above a solid plaster layer which in itself is just above floor level. A box of coarseware came from this area.

Beta/56 was cleaned down to floor level only to reveal a mould for the canopic type antefix head! It was found impressiion side facing down -- on the floor --

right up against the edge of a column base. The mould is incredibly sharp in detail -- suggesting it had not been used too often when the Southeast Building was destroyed. Some vitrified matter was found in the vicinity. It is interesting to note that the lined up "tiles," the vitrified acroterion ( p. 58 ), the cut-out acroterion with a point ( p. 52 ), the clump of modelled clay with finger impressions ( p. 66 ), and now the mould were found located on the floor within a meter's distance of each other. Great day!

Grids gamma-beta/53-54 were cleaned down in search of floor also. The floor appears to stop in beta. Alpha and the northern half of beta yielded a great deal of plaster (much of it vitrified) and a large amount of tile for a small area.
