The remaining backfill was removed. Most of the backfill was deposted in the dirt dump established Tuesday, and a new dirt dump was established app. 5m to the SW of the trench.
PM
All remaining loose backfill was cleared and roots were clipped in preparation for the re-opening of the trench. Opening photos and elevations were taken and the trench was declared open.

- 52S/198E: 26.28m A.E.
- 54.90S/198E: 26.12m A.E.
- 55S/196.02E: 26.12m A.E.
- 55S/195.01E: 26.15m A.E.
- 55S/194.99E: 26.07m A.E.
- 55S/194E: 26.17m A.E.
The boundaries of the trench are the same as in the 2007 season and were reconfirmed by triangulation.
The southern and eastern baulk walls were trimmed. Soil was sorted by hand in the trench.

- Tile and Plaster: 1/4 bowl
- Pottery: 5 sherds
- Bone: 3 pieces
