STRATEGY: We will continue with lot 1881 to the north and west. The layered surfaces in the western section will be left in place.
SUMMARY: All loose has been removed across the trench. There are additional piles of pos rubble in the centre of the trench which spread towards the pile in the western section. The deposit appears to slope down from W to E. A possible floor is evident in the eastern section of the trench. It appears to run underneath the central pile of mud-brick (?) rubble. I will refer to this horizontal surface as Surface B. The surface in the NE corner which slopes from N to S and most likely connects with f752 in the trench to the E (495, 530) will be referred to as surface A or f752. The pile of irregularly-shaped rubble stretching from the W section towards the centre of the trench will be called surface C or f781.
