The area directly under locus 8 was declared locus 9 . Photos were taken. The soil is olive-brown in color. There are still numerous roots, but there are fewer stones then was the case for the locus above.
Opening co-ordinate elevations for locus 9:
NW(80-E/47-S): 25.82 m. above absolute elevation
NE(84-E/47-S): 25.93 m. above absolute elevation
SE(84-E/49-S): 25.78 m. above absolute elevation
SW(80-E/49-S): 25.78 m. above absolute elevation
(elevations taken from closing co-ordinate elevations for locus 8)
Two pick-passes were carried out throughout the entire locus. Then selected areas were picked to level the locus. Roots were cut.
Special Finds:
#1. Locus 9 80.3-E/48.5-S 25.71 m. above absolute elevation (92 cm. below datum point) Sherd with white slip
#2. Locus 9 81.2-E/48.9-S 25.71 m. above absolute elevation (92 cm. below datum point) Bronze blob
Today, 2/3 bowl of well-worn terracotta fragments was recovered. Approximately 1/3 latte-box of pottery sherds was found. Two special finds were made.

NW(80-E/47-S): 25.78 m. above absolute elevation (85 cm. below datum point)
NE(84-E/47-S): 25.86 m. above absolute elevation (77 cm. below datum point)
SE(84-E/49-S): 25.71 m. above absolute elevation (92 cm. below datum point)
SW(80-E/49-S): 25.69 m. above absolute elevation (94 cm. below datum point)
One bone was found today.
