Pick pass begun in NE corner.  PIck two-thirds of trench and sift in buckets in trench.  Very large amounts of pottery, bone and terracotta. The locus has bhanged to the burn layer of the destruction of the orientalizing buildings.


Tools: pick axe, trowels, dustpans, buckets, wheelbarrow, plumb bob, line level, tape measure.

Soil: ligt brown crumbly with lots of plaster and charcoal inclusions, transitioning to charcoal filled burn layer.

Passes: South third of trench

Terracotta: 4 bowls

Pottery: 645 pieces

Other: Bone: 16-marked, 163 pieces; bulk bronze: 3 pieces ( 20040174).

Pick pass through souther third of trench recealed burn layer throughout trench. Significantly large increase in the amount of pottery and bone as well as larger pices of terracotta.
