AM

Work continued this morning on the cleaning of the baulk walls with methodology remaining the same as yesterday. The priority for the morning is the excavation of the .5 meter strip of eroded soil the runs along the bottom of the entirety of the walls. This dirt will be removed with the aid of a pick axe and shovel. Dirt will be then put into a bucket and sorted in a wheelbarrow. All dirt excavated from this area will be put into the designated dirt dump for T-91, T-92, and T-93. Small amounts of terra cotta and plaster are contained within the eroded soil along with small to medium sized rocks. In addition, pottery sherds and a small amount of bone are present within the soil. These will be collected in bulk and send down to the magazzino in latte boxes as per usual. They will be sorted by their numbered section designation (see yesterday’s entry).
