We increased the width of the area being excavated (ca R-U, 4-10) by 1.0m for a length of 2.0 m from the N wall of the EW cut, as investigation ca 2.0m. N of the n wall (at a depth of 1-2m) had revealed galestra and bedrock. After increasing the width, we restricted excavation in the 3.0 x 6.60 m area to 2.0 x 6.60 m, i.e. there was no further digging (after ca 0.40 m depth) in the part 1.0 m E of the 17.40 m mark, as we found galestra below. we gathered 4 boxes of tiles from the region of vertical excavation, and 1 from the upper levels, as well as the follwing:
