Continued work in meters S27, E136-138 and expanding into meter S28 slightly. This area was dropped another 10-12cm in an attempt to bring it to the same level as P.Small's cut immedietly to the south. Several more stones were uncovered, especially along the east baulk of S27-28,E138, and left insitu. The soul remained consistant with that discussed yesterday, and maintained the Locus 1 designation. 8 fragments of bone and 19 of pottery, all worn (mainly impasto and corseware, but one small fragment of bucchero) were recovered with 20-22 small terracotta fragments (1-5cm).

Continued removing backfill from R15
