Mary Sturgeon's unfinished test trench south of Civitate A1 was reopened. It measured 1.50 meters north-south and 2.50 meters east-west. About 30 centimeters down, a fragment of a raking sima with a guilloche was found. At 50 centimeters a cornice fragment, at 70 centimeters a frieze fragment ( 19690028
19690028 ) and part of a masculine leg calf were found. A rochetto and another piece of frieze ( 19690028 19690028 19690028 19690028 ) were uncovered at 75 centimeters. The remaining depth of the trench (to 1.05 meters) produced only a few fragments of tile and pottery before bedrock (at east end) and galestra (at the west end). 19690028 19690028 19690028 19690028- Finds 3, 6
