A.M.

We began with pick passes in all meters, sorting on the trench floor into buckets.  The soil continues to be mottled with an abundance of carbon inculsions.

P.M.

We spent the afternoon trimming baulk walls, recovering approx 1/4 latte of terracotta and no pottery. In locus 5 today, we collected about 1/4 cassetta of terracotta and plaster of varying sizes.  A few terracotta pieces appear vitrified.  We also recovered one piece of bulk bronze, several pieces of bone including a partial mandible (possibly dog) and circa 1/4 latte of pottery:
