Work continued on cut 4. In grids G-H/46-47 the heavy carbon and plaster concentration does not seem to continue to the south. Pottery now seems scarce except for top level, approximately at the height of the wall foundations.
In grids A-D/50-52, we have encountered heavy stone concentration, possibly a packing or terracing intended to give added support to the foundation walls of the upper building. This heavy stone packing reminds me of the heavy stone packing encountered in T-19 in 1975 when we made a cut between the north building and the upper building.
