Excavation continued in locus 8.  The trench was first leveled to check for discolorations in the soil, then digging was started to clear out pockets of soil down to sterile earth (galestra).  No special finds were made this morning.

P.M.

Excavations continued in locus 8 until all areas of the trench were showing sterile soil.  Most excavation was carried out in the SE corner up to 25 cm. in depth.  Also, some excavation was carried out in the SW corner up to 10 cm. in depth.  Today, approximately 2 bowls of plaster were recovered along with several fragments of terracotta.  Approximately 1 latte box of pottery sherds found along with approximately 1/4 latte box of bone and teeth fragments.  One piece of bronze was found and made a bulk find.  Balk trim was carried out for the most part on the southern wall face although a little trim was carried out on the

northern wall face.  From the balk trim approximately 1 bowl of terracotta fragments was recovered.  Approximately 1 latte box of pottery sherds found along with approximately 1/3 latte box of bone and teeth fragments.  One special find was made during balk trim, which was able to be located in locus 7.
