STRATEGY: 1. Continue removing 1309 as our most secure spit so far. 2. Excavate the eastern half of f87 to clarify its size, structure & function. 3. Remove f91.

SUMMARY: 1. Most of trench was cleared of 1309. Flot sample taken (3 zambils) & a 50% sieve maintained. 2. Several lot nos assigned to the various elements of f87 - they were almost all removed by the end of the day (see plan). By the end of the day we had exposed:- (a) The edge of the plaster surface of f87 - the feature is plainly circular but no entrance is immediately apparent. (b) A small wall of stones at an angle fo f87s NE edge - these stones form the edge of f92 - I gave them f no.93 for now (until they are fully clarified). The plaster of f92 runs up to f93. (c) About 6 stones on the south edge of f87.
