The layer of stones in I-J 16-22 was initially cleaned and polished (see plan p.23). Work started in J23-25. About 40 cm below
surface a third layer of stones. Below this was found a feline head in L24 at a depth of about 1.25 m. Also a piece of frieze and quite a lot of sherds, among which were several bucchero pieces. While cleaning the stones were found one piece of horse-race frieze in K 18 and a piece of a feline water spout in I22. Two boxes of tiles dumped, mostly from L23-25.
