Hand-picks, trowels, and brushes are used in Locus 5 to define rocks and further clarify the yellow soil deposit. Loose soil is collected by hand and sorted into buckets for disposal. In Locus 7, a pick pass is thrown in the easternmost 50cm of the locus, approximately 6 - 7 N, to remove the last of the dark brown, charcoal-included soil deposit and reach the yellow soil deposit. The soil here is also collected by hand and sorted into buckets for disposal. Additionally, the baulk walls are refined with hand picks.

Another pick pass is thrown in the eastern half of Locus 7 and the western half of Locus 5, approximately 6 - 7 N, to remove the last of the darker brown soil deposit. The soil loosened by this pick pass is hand-sorted into buckets. Hand picks and trowels are used to loosen and remove any remaining dark brown soil as well as to define the yellow soil deposit and bedrock.
PM
The trench is prepared for closing. Trowels are used to scrape the surface, and brushes are used to sweep the surface. Any remaining roots are clipped; loose rocks are removed; and the lim of a tree adjacent to the trench is removed to facilitate the taking of drone photographs. The top plans of Loci 5 and 7 are drawn.
