Excavation of the area B-H, 28-30 was completed with the following objects being found.

One and one half boxes of tiles were dumped from the completion of this area.

For a plan and section of this area see the facing page .  The character of the "ditch" charnged slightly toward the end of this area.  For twenty metres it had been bounded by a bedrock outcrop on at least one side, but in grid row 30 it began to show itself as being bounded on both sides and bottom by yellow earth in some places overlying bedrock in a very thin layer.  The other features of this area were much the

same as before with the architectural terracottas centring on the area of grid columns E and F, and with the two strata of earth, one consisting on a tightly packed stone layer and the other of a layer of brown earth with scattered stones (see section on page 148 ).  Both of these layers produced architectural terracottas of the same type.
