The tile fall in meters F-G 92-95 was drawn, while the area slightly to the west- G-H 90-92 - was cleared. This nearly completes preparations for lifting the tiles early next week. In addition, measurements were taken (with a level) throughout the north portion of the trench to facilitate the emendation of the current tile fall onto the architect's plan.

The northwest portion of the stump was cleared. One small box of pottery was recovered.

The southern extension into K 97-98 was taken to 40 cm below ground level. The soil at this level was yellow shale-like near palestra with numerous small rocks throughout. Oddly enough, however, this cut yielded one half a cassetta of tile two-thirds of a box of pottery, and an apparent frieze plaque fragment (fine #3), which is unusual for a layer of near-virgin soil.
