AM

We started the morning by starting a new locus. Locus 3 was closed and 4 started. Locus 4 is characteristically light brown soil with carbon & white particulates throughout. Small traces of plaster are also evident.

After locus 4 was defind, a cut was made through meters 50S 167E and 51S 167E. This was a small cut since another locus rested under the surface of locus 4. This cut was extended through the remainder of the trench using a pick axe, shovel, wheel barrow method. Once this cut was completed, the floor of the trench was levelled and locus 5 was defined. Locus 5 is characteristically ligtht o medium brown soil with plaster and carbon inclusions. It is also very dry and sandy like locus 3 and locus 4.
