We started the morning by starting a new locus. Locus 3 was closed and 4 started. Locus 4 is characteristically light brown soil with carbon & white particulates throughout. Small traces of plaster are also evident.

After locus 4 was defind, a cut was made through meters 50S 167E and 51S 167E. This was a small cut since another locus rested under the surface of locus 4. This cut was extended through the remainder of the trench using a pick axe, shovel, wheel barrow method. Once this cut was completed, the floor of the trench was levelled and locus 5 was defined. Locus 5 is characteristically ligtht o medium brown soil with plaster and carbon inclusions. It is also very dry and sandy like locus 3 and locus 4.

Another cut was made in meters 50S 167E and 51S 167E which brought the floor level at the trench down about 5 cm, this cut was extended throughout the trnech befroe the break.

The baulk walls at the trench were trimmed for the remainder of the day.
About 1/16 cassette terracotta was found in Locus 4 today and 1/4 latte box of pottery. In Locus 5 , we found 1/4 latte box pottery and bone & 1/16 a cassette terracotta. While trimming the baulk walls of the trench, we found 1/2 cassette terracotta and 1/4 latte box of pottery and bone. One special find was recoded today, and one small
fragment of bronze was found in the baulk wall cut as well.
