Metal Summary

T-75 produced only a few metal finds, with only 12 finds in total, none of which were catalogued. Four of those finds were slag, weighing a total of 117g. However, it should be noted that the bulk of that weight came from a large fragment recovered from the baulk wall, which weighed 92 g. Locus 1 did produce some small flecks of bronze; however, due to the small size and the fact that Locus 1 was topsoil and an old dirt dump, the bronze was not collected. Locus 2 had the greatest amount of metal finds, with 5 pieces recovered. Four of the five finds were iron fragments. Three of these iron fragments were unidentifiable; however, what appears to be an iron bract was recovered from Locus 2 , as noted on page 73. Locus 4 also produced a sizeable chunk of iron; however, since it was topsoil, the iron was not significant enough. Locus 5 also produced two metal finds, one piece of iron and one piece of slag, neither of which were identifiable.
