  • Boxes of Pottery: 2

Work continued today in Tesoro Rect. 5.  At a depth c. 50-60 cm. I, 4-6, line of stones, perhaps forming part of wall foundation.  Sector I-K, 6, at depth c. 65-70 cm. - below yellowish/grey layer, lay a stratum of dark brown earth with heavy carbon deposit.  The pottery from this straum consisted of large quantity of plain ware, heavily burned.  Considerable quantities of bone also occurred.  No tiles were found in the burnt stratum.  The pottery from this heavily carbonized-burnt stratum (designated = A) was kept separate.  Very little bucchero was uncovered.
