Surface exploration methods The site was recorded while visually inspecting a grass-covered area that contained hard compacted gravel under the grass with 0?20 percent visibility with foundation remnants visible at the surface. Shovel probes were attempted in this area in order to determine site stratigraphy, but the gravel was too highly compacted to excavate any shovel probes.
