Description Fragmentary impasto cup. The sides extend in a gentle curve from a flat cup-base. At the shoulder, where the exterior section of the handle joins the cup, the sides turn sharply inward and then flare out to form an everted rim. The side walls are decorated with narrow adjoining scallops (mold-made). The curving exterior section of the handle is a flat plaque with a relief pattern of three palmettes and the remnants of a fourth, enclosed by heart shaped volutes. They are arranged in a vertical row, intertwining, stacked one above the other. The lateral sides are bordered by two vertical bars in relief, which are divided by an incised line continuing past the lower border of the plaque and extending to the scallop pattern.
Fabric Description Impasto, fine grain. Burned orange.
