Observations The cut emerges from the bulk of our excavation limit, only southern section excavated, 33cm wide, 42cm deep - depth may not be original as the top of the cut may have originated at higher level.
Position south central area B 2011, between house and quarry debris.

Finds Observations Impasto rosso: degraded outer surface. Latest possible pieces are creamware and commonware, which are undatable. Absence of later wares suggests an earlier date, likely before 450 BC.
Ceramics Observations Small sherd size, few diagnostic pieces.

Interpretation

Fill that may be related to a grave given its shape and the fact that only 30cm have been excavated (due to the excavation limit). May relate to post hole, as there are large rocks below. The fill is somewhat similar to the surrounding material, making identification difficult.
