Surface exploration methods | The precise location of site 12-Cl-179 site was unclear. As designated on the topographic maps filed at DHPA, the site is located in an area that is currently a residential lot. The residential lot was not surveyed due the severe soil disturbance caused by residential development activities such as landscaping, house construction and utility line installation. However, the fallow field which is located directly to the south of this location was surveyed at a 5 meter interval through shovel test probed survey methods. Topography was found to be nearly level. Approximately half of the shovel test probes excavated lacked any topsoil due to the eroded nature of the soils while the other half had a limited amount of topsoil remain. |
