| Surface exploration methods | Plow furrows are visible, the area has been fallow at least three years. There was very little material culture on the surface. The owner has a collection of stone tools gathered from the field representing Archaic, Woodland, and Mississippian stages. The site was approximately 52m x 40m. This is probably peripheral to or an extension of a larger site on one of the other hills (the Kolarick House site) in the immediate area. The fire cracked rock, chert chips and tool found could be historic; however, we conclude that it is a prehistoric site because of the collection of stone tools mentioned (belonging to landowner). |
