Surface exploration methods The soil observed at the site consisted of Parke silt loam. The positive shovel probe revealed topsoil depth of 10 to 15 cm (4-6 in.) below surface. 11 flakes were recovered from 2 shovel probes. In addition, 1 amorphous core and 2 utilized flakes were also recovered. All lithic artifacts were made of Laurel chert. No diagnostic artifacts were recovered, prohibiting the determination of a cultural affiliation.
