Observations excavated with pickaxes; N limit of SU difficult to distinguish from 1214. Its contact with the lower yellow layer below is diffiuse in that the bottom half of 1169 starts to become yellow; south limit cut by 1170, west limit cut by 1175, east limit cut by 1152.
Position immediately north of 1135 and stretchs over the entire length of the structure
Shape linear shape, roughly square
Layer Surface no slope; a bit of rubble layer below visible on NE side
Layer Inclusion Observations pottery and amphorae sherds; rubble was granular and easy to trowel
Layer Thickness Observations thicker along the S, thinner in NE corner where layer of rubble and tile appears
Layer Interface Diffuse
Soil Sample Volume 2.0
Soil Sample Percent 2.0
Finds Observations internal red slip ware: fine fabric; joins with a fragment from SU 1165 > these two SU were probably formed concurrently; attic pottery: attic_pottery_poss; metal (deprecated): 1 box of iron and copper alloy; plaster: 1 box

Interpretation layer probably represents colluvium from post-abandomnet of structure. This is suggested by its rubble and fragmented pottery inclusions and the silty nature of the soil as well as the layer's homogeneity.
