Yenibademli (40° 13’ N 25° 53’ E) Höyük (i.e., settlement mound) is located in Northeast Gökçeada, formerly named Imbros, a volcanic island that lies off the coast of Gelibolu Peninsula. The mound is situated 1.7 km southwest of the present coastline, on the eastern bank of Büyükdere River, the largest river on the island. Archaeological excavations at Yenibademli commenced in 1996 and continue at present. Work at the site is conducted by a team from Hacettepe University in Ankara under the direction of Halime Hüry?lmaz. The architectural remains of the mound belong the the Aegean Early Bronze Age period; roughly the mid 3rd millennium BC.
