Description | Complex pit cut into structural fill and possibly exterior walls of tholos F273 characterised by burnt pit rim and sides. The first cut pit accounts for the widest dimension and was a relatively shallow scoop (c. 10cm deep) Bottoming on pise fill similar to L2025 filling tholos F273. Some minor burning was associated . A second cut, made after the first pit had been filled with debris, was smaller and deeper, burned, bottoming in part on a smooth clayey prepared surface poss. Similar to that in the bottom of F275. But c.5cm deeper. This may also represent a floor or feature associated with the tholos. Athird deeper cut, penetrating the bottom og the second pit to a total dpeth of 26cm below the trench surface, appearst to relate to animal burrowing. |
