Interpretation	Floor preparation layer. In the west it abuts a tufo slab containing a hole for drainage to the sewer system. In the eastern section the fired tufo inclusions of the preparation layer are still preserved. Layer is still in situ at end of 2011, and further examination next season is warranted.
