Observations cut through both 1173&1187 which is deeper in the section not through the wall. Bottom appears to be lined with rocks (cobble-sized). Sunny, dry conditions.
Position Northeast corner room 2 along North wall (1187)
Shape half rectangular and half oblong/rounded
Cut Observations bottom may be lined in more crushed tufo, but there's also a large-ish rock down there

Interpretation A cut was made through the wall and floor. It was most likely a posthole. The bottom was lined with cobble-sized stones and depth was not constant (deeper in the southern half)
