| Surface exploration methods | the soil observed at the site consisted of Genesee loam. While this soil type is frequently flooded, the positive shovel probes revealed topsoil depth of 15 to 20 cm (12 to 16 in) bs. Due to the drop in elevation of Pleasant Run along the southern boundary, the narrow flood plain in the area is not susceptible to significant accumulation of alluvial deposits. |
