STRATEGY: Complete excavation of 1503 and continue going down afterwards in 1504.

SUMMARY: 1503: pot, flint, bone and grinding stone remains. Fully developed soil (see yesterday's decription). Contains large rocks in southern end of trench, which could be wall tumble. 1504 opened, an arbitrary spit beneath 1503, but really the same fully developed soil. Contains pot (1 possible reconstruction), flint, bone, some roof tile, a pot slag lump and 3 small finds (see sketch). Beginning to reveal larger (than first size) rocks in northern half of trench, which could be wall tumble- need to excavate more to see.
