Bone Summary

A large quantity of bone fragments were recovered from this season's excavations of T26N.  Bones were found in all loci except for Locus 15, which had very little material.  The largest quantities came from the burn layer, designated Locus 16.  A majority of the fragments were small, but there was also a large amount of teeth and jaw bones.  Several pieces of bone were found to be worked or displayed butcher marks, and these select fragments were made special finds.

  • Locus 12: 32 bone fragments
  • Locus 14: 174 bone fragments
  • Locus 15: 0 bone fragments
  • Locus 16: 2224 bone fragments
  • Locus 17: 146 bone fragments
  • Baulk trim: 78 bone fragments
